CRASH GUARDS:

Also known as engine guards or case savers , these guards provide a level of protection to the engine crankcase and in particular the forward side covers against scratches or fractures in the case of minor spills, unanticipated bike drops, etc.

Be aware though, that in the case of a high-speed or violent crash, all types of engine guards are designed to be the sacrificial lamb , and will most probably be damaged to some extent, and may be destroyed beyond use, or, depending on the severity of the event, may not protect the engine or bike frame from damage.

NOTE: guards typically will not fit bikes with factory side fairings (XJ650 Turbo, XJ750D, or XJ750 Seca models using the large factory sport  fairing with the lower wind-deflector legs , and may or may not accept forward controls  systems.



2-point OEM-reproduction Crash Guards:

HCP25519 Aftermarket engine case protection CHROME CRASH GUARDS SET. This matched LH/RH set is a correct reproduction of the factory optional 1AA-W0741-00-00 2-tube, 2-point mounting guards, and comes with all mounting hardware and installation instructions. 2-point Mad Max  Crash Guards:

These Mad Max  style guards are a great lower-cost guard, and provide a basic level of protection against slow-speed spills, unanticipated bike drops, and other such minor catastrophes. One 7/8  diameter main u-shaped tube is cross-braced by 3 smaller half-tubes and forms an imposing face-mask  around the lower front engine area. Beautifully chrome-plated, they ll intimidate your opponents while performing their job with style and grace.

Please note that these 2-point mounting crash guards are nowhere near as strong and protective as the Road-Rage style (3-mounting points) guards listed further below.

BIKE TRANSPORT:

Sure, bikes get damaged while being ridden (or dropped), but you'd be surprised how often they also get dropped when they're traveling zero miles-per-hour, too............like in the back of a pick-up truck bed or on a trailer. The proper use of quality TIE-DOWN STRAPS will prevent this, and for even more security, you can use the patented CYCLE DOCK that makes loading and un-loading a bike a truly 1-man job.


Tie-Down Straps:

Non-ratcheting tie-downs feature a positively locking cam buckle to keep the strap cinched down, while ratcheting tie downs feature a positive-lock ratchet mechanism to provide easier, and more secure, lock-down of your bike.
It's recommended that you use 2 ratcheting tie-downs per bike, and have some of the non-ratcheting types available for other purposes.

Wheel Locking Devices:

One of the biggest problems with loading and securing a motorcycle into a trailer or vehicle is that it takes two people.......and as we all know, good help is certainly hard to find!

To solve this problem, we offer this innovative product called a CYCLE DOCK, and that pretty well describes what it does. Using the bikes own weight, it has a pivoting wheel clamp that "locks" the front tire into a receiving cradle when the front tire passes over the clamp, thus firmly grabbing the front wheel and locking it into a restrained position that will keep the bike upright all by itself! This allows a single operator to dismount the bike and tie it down (or release it from the tie-downs) without help from another person. DIY at it's best!

The docking mechanism itself is non-permanently attached to a fixed mounting rail, so the dock can be moved to different positions on a multi-rail trailer, or from vehicle-to-vehicle, for maximum usefulness. Complete system comes with two mounting rails and the docking mechanism.

We use this system on our trailers, and it's the handiest thing since sliced bread.......
