Brake Distribution Block:

bd1) OEM brake hose line DISTRIBUTION BLOCK or "JOINT". The brake hose from the master cylinder terminates at this distribution block, which is used to "split" the single line from a master cylinder into the two lines that go to each brake caliper. In single-caliper systems, this block serves the purpose as being a brake line "joint", coupling the hose from the master cylinder to the hose to the single caliper.

These metal "u-shaped" bracket fit around a rubber grommet that is on the master cylinder or caliper brake hose, and secures the caliper hose securely in position. Brake Hose Union Bolt Crush Washers:

These precision sized copper washers are used to seal the brake hose end fitting to both the union bolt and the attachment point (be it the master cylinder, the distribution block, the lower fork tube, or the caliper). Each single-length union bolt requires the use of two crush washers, while a double-length union bolt requires the use of three washers per bolt. If you choose to re-use your union bolts rather than replace them, we strongly suggest that you clean them internally.....they collect quite a bit of sludge, rust, and varnish internally, and you don't want that material getting into your brake system after your system rebuild or re-bleeding efforts. Available in either 18-8 stainless steel or brass, these brushes not only help make the job of cleaning parts so much easier, but also insure that threaded passages are clean, clean, clean and less likely to strip or deform when fasteners are inserted once again. All brushes have a "finger-loop" in the end to make twisting action easier. Stainless brushes will last longer and can clean more aggressively, so be gentle when using them on aluminum carb bodies and bowls. Brass brushes are gentle on soft metals like carb bodies, but require more effort to produce a cleaner surface and wear out more quickly.
